At the Opticians in the Junior Room

The Junior Room have been at the Opticians in Aistear this month.

We listened to stories, got our eyes tested, made glasses and built a range of equipment to check our eyesight – lots of fun and learning!

Sports Coaching with Sasha

We all really enjoyed our first coaching session with Sasha – money raised by the parents through Christmas quiz sheets is being used to pay for this coaching.

The Junior Room had great fun practising their throwing and catching skills.

The Middle Room got kitted out in their shin guards and gum shields for their first hockey lesson, learning the skills of passing and dribbling the ball.

They also had great fun playing a few games!

The Senior Room had their first Tri-Heroes session – the wind and rain didn’t put them off as they set off on their bikes!

Thank you Sasha – we are looking forward to next week!

Christmas fun!

We have had great fun in school over the last few days with lots of Christmas activities.

Each classroom enjoyed hot chocolate and watched a movie last Friday

We have made lots of lovely Christmas Art.

The Junior Room were very busy making and wrapping presents and writing lists to help Santa during Aistear.

Tuesday was our Christmas Party – everyone had a great time playing lots of games inside and outside all day!

We also had a very special visitor to the school – Santa checked his book and everyone is on his nice list this year!

Happy Christmas everyone!

It’s a Party!

We were delighted to be able to perform our Nativity play It’s a Party! in Killeshandra Parish Church on Tuesday 14th December. A huge ‘well done’ to everyone for your amazing performances!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…

We are getting into the Christmas spirit in school this week! We were delighted when the amazing Christmas cards we designed arrived today – we will have to get writing!

6th Class also put up our Christmas tree this afternoon – things are starting to look very festive in Killeshandra!

Science Week 2021

We celebrated Science Week this week – we enjoyed taking part in different investigations, experiments and challenges in our classrooms. Today, everyone took part in webinars – we were learning about water, cows and the weather!

Christmas Shoebox Appeal

Thank you so much to everyone who supported this year’s Team Hope Christmas Shoebox Appeal, either by filling a shoebox or donating online.

We were delighted to send 56 shoeboxes off today!

DSPCA Speaker

Each classroom had a Zoom meeting with Anne Hogan from the Dublin Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals today. Anne told us about the work the DSPCA do to rescue and rehome all different kinds of animals and how each one of us can look after animals. She also answered lots of questions for us. We all learned a lot and really enjoyed her virtual visit.

Dress-up Day!

We had lots of unusual characters in school today! We enjoyed a day with no uniform before our mid-term break!
