We had a fascinating visit from Ross Cochrane from the Heritage in Schools programme today. Ross took each class on a walk and we looked at the plants growing in the hedgerows and in the forest.
We learned so much about the names of some of these plants, how to identify them, which ones are edible, plants that can be used in medicine and some of the folklore surrounding them. We also had time for a few games and got up close with the trees!
Thank you Ross for a most interesting day!
