Unfortunately Santa wasn’t able to visit us in person this year, but he did take time to send each classroom a special message today! We were also delighted that he had left some presents for each of us in our classrooms this morning – thank you Santa!

12 schools in the Kilmore, Elphin and Ardagh Diocese took part in a ‘Virtual Nativity Play’ organised by Damien Shorten, Diocesan Youth & Children’s Coordinator (Elphin & Ardagh) and the Play it by Ear drama company.

5th and 6th Class were unable to go to the Resource Centre this year as is customary to help the Senior Citizens pack their Christmas shoeboxes. However each child wrote a letter and made a card for them. We hope the Senior Citizens will enjoy reading these letters and know that the children are thinking about them at this time.
Well done 5th and 6th Class for putting so much effort into their letters and cards, and thank you to Fiona Magee for delivering them.
We enjoyed a lovely treat today because we have filled our Positive Behaviour Pasta Jar!
We have been trying so hard to be positive, give compliments to others and show kindness to everyone, and finally have filled our pasta jar.
Today, each room enjoyed some delicious hot chocolate (with marshmallows!) and cookies while watching a Christmas movie. It was a lovely reward for all our hard work.
This month, 5th and 6th Class’ STEM challenge invloved building as tall a tower as possible which was capable of standing freely and not attached to anything!
Well done to all the pupils for their super ideas and creating such tall towers using a whole range of household objects.
We were delighted to have skipping ropes in our equipment boxes this week – it has been a long time since some of us were skipping, but we quickly found our feet and rhythm again!
We celebrated ‘Blue Day’ today to wish the Cavan team ‘Good Luck!’ in the Ulster Final on Sunday. We made flags, coloured county crests and everyone dressed in blue!
Thank you so much to the Killeshandra Leaguers who generously provided all the children with a bag of treats to enjoy.
We are half way through our GAA coaching with Jack. We have been working on our ball handling skills, practising our solos, bounces and catches – our ball control has really improved since week 1. We have also enjoyed playing some games, and have been very fortunate with the weather so far! We are looking forward to the rest of our coaching over the next few weeks.
