We were delighted to welcome Mr William Olphert and Mrs Lavinia Tilson from the Ulster Scots Agency to school yesterday. Over the last number of years, we have taken part in a number of different events and projects with them.
We showed some photos and the children shared their memories and experiences of story-telling and language workshops, a twinning project with a school from Coleraine, a trip to the Ulster American Folk Park, dancing lessons, piping lessons and drumming lessons.
Our visitors from the Ulster Scots Agency were very impressed with everything we had experienced and our engagement in the programme, and we were delighted when Mr. Olphert presented us with a Flagship School Programme award as recognition for all our hard work.
Thank you so much to the Ulster Scots Agency – all of the tutors and trips were fully funded by the Ulster Scots Agency at no expense to the school, and the children had lots of new experiences through the programme. Thank you also to Mr. Olphert and Mrs. Tilson for joining us yesterday. We look forward to continuing the partnership with the Ulster Scots Agency in the future.
