Today was our last day of swimming and we got to go on the slides! We have really enjoyed getting back to Cavan Swimming Pool for the last 6 Mondays – our swimming has improved so much!

We set off bright and early from Killeshandra this morning and made it to the Olympia Theatre, Dublin in great time. There was much excitement as we got our tickets and headed inside!

We found our seats and had time to relax (and eat some more lunch!) before the performance began.

What a show it was! We thoroughly enjoyed watching Ben and Granny, along with all the other characters. There was music, dancing and lots of laughter as we followed their adventure – it was amazing to see the story come to life on the stage in front of us.

After a fabulous show, we all boarded the bus again and headed home. We made a quick stop in Virginia for some ice cream, for the final treat of a fantastic day!

We arrived back in Killeshandra shortly after 4 o’clock, tired but happy, after a wonderful day – a school tour to remember!
Congratulations to one of our pupils who won a prize in the Killeshandra 2050 competition. We had to draw what we would like the local area to look like in 2050.
Thank you to Kieran Fitzpatrick who came in to school today to present our winner with a voucher for arts and crafts – well done!

We were delighted to learn that all our hard work completing our projects on the European Union has paid off and we have been awarded a Blue Star Flag! We raised the flag today and when we see it flying, we will be reminded of all we learned about the EU and the fun we had on Europe Day. Well done everyone!

We had all kinds of weather today for our Sponsored Walk! The Middle and Senior Rooms walked the complete Killeshandra Loop Walk, and the Junior Room walked part of the way. When we came back to school, the sun shone as we enjoyed a delicious tub of ice-cream from Ice Cream Treats here in Killeshandra.
Thank you to all the parents who came and walked with us today, and to Fiona for organising the ice-cream – we had a great day!

The Junior Room have been very busy this month at the airport.
We packed our bags, made passports, filled in boarding cards, had security checks, made aeroplanes and even went for a flight on a plane!

Well done to all those in 5th and 6th Class who represented our school, along with Scoil BhrÃde , in the Cumann na mBunscol competitions this year.

Many thanks to Amy from Cavan GAA who has just finished her coaching sessions with us on Friday mornings – the weather was not always on our side, but we enjoyed getting out each week for games, skills and a few matches.

We had a visit from Fred the Party Professor today – he entertained and amazed us with his juggling, illusions and musical skills. Best of all, he managed to get us all a night off homework tonight! Thank you Fred!

Today was our first Zumba session with Aisha. We had great fun learning some new moves and are looking forward to next week already!

Well done to all the children in the Middle and Senior rooms who entered the Creative Schools Competition organised by Cavan Royal School.
Congratulations to one of our 6th Class pupils who won – she is looking forward to spending her Eason’s voucher! Well done!
